Editorial standards

Every guide on buildinginspectors.au is reviewed by a licensed building inspector and updated annually.

Our process

  1. Research: We reference Australian Standards (AS 4349.1, AS 3660), state building codes, and licensing body guidelines.
  2. Expert review: Guides are reviewed by licensed inspectors with active QBCC, Fair Trading, VBA, or equivalent credentials.
  3. Annual updates: Content is updated for accuracy, new regulations, and cost data.
  4. Transparency: We note review dates and mark uncertain claims with TODOs for verification.

What we don't do

  • We don't invent statistics or licence facts we haven't verified
  • We don't accept payment for guide placement or positive coverage
  • We don't publish inspector-written content as independent editorial
